Our divisional secretary, Group - C Union, visited Sikkim Division today responding to an invitation by N.F.P.E. Group of Unions, Sikkim Division.
Office bearers and members of N.F.P.E. Group of Unions, Sikkim Division were present in the meeting. The meeting was a huge success, earning applauds from all. Our secretary was received warmly. The members were deeply touched by our concern for the earthquake victims and greatly appreciated our gesture.
In the meeting, our secretary handed over ₹ 37,000 collected from our division, to the president for the Earthquake victims of Sikkim Division. In this connection, it has to be mentioned that, we have earlier deposited Rs. 3000 to the Circle Union's Sikkim Earthquake Relief Fund as per the instruction of our Circle Union in the last Circle Conference at Kalyani ( ₹ 3,000 + ₹ 37,000 = ₹ 40,000 in total ).
In the short speech of our secretary, he has given the proposal to set a up a permanent Earthquake Relief Fund for the members of Sikkim Division. We will be highly obliged if our proposal is implemented.
