e-Postal Life Insurance. Some of the key process changes that will take place are mentioned below:

 Every Head Office will have an attached Circle Processing Center. (CPCs) wherein all types of functions relating to servicing of policies will take place. Around 809 Central Processing Centers (CPCs) would be set up.
· Policy service requests can now be submitted through multiple channels like online, Post Office, CPCs and customer call center ·

 Any type of customer related query can be resolved by calling at the call center 
· Hand held device will be an interaction channel for customers for transactions such as payment of premiums, query, grievance, policy service request, request for an agent etc.· Introduction of a system which will help in managing all the agents like disbursement of their commissions, performance tracking etc. · Introduction of a system which will help in identifying potential customers. ·

 Provide Insurance cover to large rural population, while minimizing the cost of operations· Enhanced quality of service being offered to the customers · Develop a fully integrated life insurance platform to enable efficient and cost effective service to existing and new customers · Become the first choice insurer for all the eligible customers in the country · PLI/RPLI implementation seeks to meet the following objectives:

Kissan Vikas Patra (KVP) was a very popular instrument among small savers. I plan to reintroduce the instrument to encourage people, who may have banked and unbanked savings to invest in this instrument. 

Small Savings

To address the concerns of decline in savings rate and improving returns for small savers, I propose to revitalize small savings.

My Government attaches utmost importance to the welfare of Girl Child. A special small savings instrument to cater to the requirements of educating and marriage of the Girl Child will be introduced. A National Savings Certificate with insurance cover will also be launched to provide additional benefits for the small saver.

In the PPF Scheme, annual ceiling will be enhanced to Rs 1.5 lakh p.a. From Rs 1 lakh at present.

* Manufacturing can sell its products through retail including Ecommerce platforms.
* Requirement to infuse Rs.2,40,000 crore as equity by 2018 in our banks to be in line with Basel-III norms PSUs will invest through capital investment a total sum of Rs. 2,47,941 crores.
* Rs 4,000 cr set aside to increase flow of cheaper credit for affordable housing to the urban poor/EWS/LIG segment.

* Expenditure management commission to be setup; will look into food and fertilizer subsides
* Legislative and administrative changes to sort out pending tax demands of more than Rs. 4 lakh crore under dispute and litigation.
* New Urea Policy would be formulated.
* More productive, asset creating and with linkages to agriculture and allied activities wage employment would to be provided under MGNREGA.
* A committee will to examine and recommend how unclaimed amounts with PPF, Post Office, saving schemes etc. can be used to protect and further financial interests of the senior citizens
* Slum development to be included in the list of Corporate Social Responsibility
* Committee to examine the financial architecture for MSME Sector, remove bottlenecks and create new rules and structures to be set up and give concrete suggestions in three months.
* An institution to provide support to mainstreaming PPPPs called 4PIndia to be set up with a corpus of Rs. 500 crores.

NEW DELHI: Postal Services in the country has beaten its revenue target three 

years in a row, exceeding the target by 9.5 per cent in fiscal 2013-14,

 Parliament was informed today.The government had set a revenue target of Rs 

7,522.02 crore for the Postal Services in 2011-12, while the Department

registered revenue of Rs 7,899.40 crore.

"The revenue generation of Postal Services is increasing every year and the targets for each coming year are raised by the Government," Minister of Communications and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad today said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
In the year 2012-13, the revenue stood at Rs 9,366.50 crore against a target of Rs 8,762.75 crore, he added.
In 2013-14, the revenue stood at Rs 10,720.94 crore as against the target of Rs 9,787.52 crore, he said.
Responding to a separate query, the Minister said 1,735 post offices were modernised under Project Arrowagainst the target of 1,759 post offices during the 11th Plan.
"During the 12th Plan, 2,500 post offices are proposed to be modernised under Project Arrow with an outlay of Rs 284 crore," Prasad said.
During the first two years of the 12th Plan, 880 post offices have been modernised and so far, 2,615 post offices have been modernised under the 11th and 12th Plan, he added.

Honble Union minister Sadananda Gowda has presented his first Rail Budget in the Lok Sabha. Here are the highlights :

* Indian railways to become the largest freight carrier in the world.

* Social obligation of Railways in 2013-14 was Rs 20,000 crore.

* Gross traffic receipts in 2013-14 was Rs 12,35,558 crore; operating ratio was 94 per cent.

* Focus in past has been on sanctioning projects rather than completing them, Railway minister says.

* Indian Railways spent Rs 41,000 crore on laying of 3,700 km of new lines in last 10 years.
* Fare revision will bring in Rs.8,000 crore; need another Rs.9,000 crore for golden quadrilateral project. 
* Railways also proposes to set up Food Courts at major stations.


* Need to explore alternative sources of resource mobilisation and not depend on fare hike alone, Railway minister says. 

* Spend 94 paisa of every rupee earned, leaving a surplus of only 6 paisa. 

* With 12,500 trains, railways move 23 million passengers every day; equivalent to moving Australia's population.

* Separate housekeeping wing at 50 major stations.

* CCTV to monitor cleanliness activities.

* Mechanized laundry will be introduced.

* Dedicated freight corridor on Eastern and Western corridors.

* 5400 unmanned level crossing removed.

* Tourist trains to be introduced to link all major places of tourist interests across the country.

* 4,000 women constables to be recruited to ensure safety of women. 17,000 RPF constables to provide safety to passengers.

* Setting up of Railway University for technical and non-technical study.

* Ultrasonic system to detect problem in track.

* Proposal to start Bullet trains in Mumbai—Ahmedabad route. Speed of important trains will be also raised. 

* Diamond Quadrilateral project of high speed trains to connect all major metros.

E-ticketing system to be improved. Future e-ticketing to support 7200 tickets per minute & to allow 120,000 simultaneous users

* ​Wifi in A1 and A category stations and in select trains. Internet-based platform and unreserved tickets.

* GIS mapping and digitization of Railway Land. Extension of logistics support to various e-Commerce Companies.

* ​Bulk of future projects will be financed through PPP mode.

* Facilitate transport of milk through rail. Special milk transportation trains in association with Amul and National Dairy Association Board.

* One ticket to reach from Delhi to Srinagar. Uddhampur to Banihal by bus and Banihal to Srinagar by train.

* Mumbai local to get 860 new, state-of-the art coaches. 64 new EMUs to be introduced.
